Meningitis Reasearch Foundation
Meningitis and Septicaemia can affect anyone of any age. It can cause death or devastation in a matter of hours.

The work of the Meningitis Research Foundation is essential if we are to see an end to meningitis and septicaemia in this country. It is the commonest infectious cause of death in children and young people up to 20 years; it is the number one killer in children aged 1-5 years.

The main priority of the Foundation is to fund scientific research to prevent the diseases completely. We are currently funding 39 projects with a value in excess of £5 million. To reduce the number of cases we work with both the public and health professionals to increase awareness of meningitis and septicaemia, as prompt diagnosis and fast treatment give the best chances of a full recovery.

The Foundation also provides an invaluable support and befriending service for those affected through our 24 hour helpline - freefone 080 8800 3344.

Visit our award winning website at www.meningitis.org to find out more about our vital work.

Why not join us in this year's Munro Madness and help in the fight against meningitis and septicaemia. You could be helping to save the life of not just someone, but someone you know.
